Dr. Sami Marqus is an internal medicine specialist specializing in metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other metabolic-endocrine conditions. He established his clinic in Pickering in July 2018, dedicated to providing expert care to his patients. Dr. Marqus is deeply committed to assisting his patients in achieving and maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Dr. Marqus completed his medical degree at the University of Baghdad in 1981. In 1988, he obtained his Master's degree in Microbiology. Subsequently, he relocated to Canada, where he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Memorial University in Newfoundland in 2001.

​Atefeh Golpaie is a registered dietitian regulated under the College of Dietitians of Ontario, certified as a diabetes educator, and holds a certification as a bariatric educator, bringing ten years of experience to her practice. Atefeh adopts a personalized approach to her practice, offering practical advice tailored to her clients' objectives. She advocates for achievable goals, believing in the profound impact of nutrition on overall health. Her method promotes sustainable lifestyle changes, fostering healthier, more fulfilling lives for her clients.

Atefeh earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in nutrition, conducting practice-based research focusing on bariatric patients pre- and post-surgery.
